Police are investigating after a man wearing only boxer shorts reportedly tried to break into a Rochester Hills home.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at 6:24 a.m. on July 1 in the 900 block of Majestic.

Homeowners told police that a white man wearing only boxer shorts was reportedly trying to break through a glass pane on a rear door to the home.

According to the report, residents in the home were yelling at the subject to leave and were holding the door to prevent the man from opening it. One resident reportedly opened a second story window above the suspect and told him that they were getting their gun.

The residents told police that the suspect ran toward the front the home and tried to open the door of a 2018 Porsche Macan, which was parked in the street in front of the house. The car was locked and the suspect fled the area on foot.

The OCSO K-9 unit established a track which was later terminated due to losing the scent.

Deputies found that the Porsche parked in front of the home did not belong to any of the neighbors in close proximity to where it was parked. The license plate was registered to a Birmingham car dealer, who told police that the car had been loaned to a subject who had brought his Porsche in for repair.

The vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.

According to police, detectives are looking for an Auburn Hills man, 27, as a suspect in the incident. Detectives will continue to investigate.
