Tractor Supply to host Market Day event Saturday

Tractor Supply Company in Cañon City will showcase the talents of local craft makers, artisans and growers during its spring Market Day event Saturday.

Community members are invited to celebrate spring by shopping local, homemade and homegrown goods at the Cañon City Tractor Supply from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1919 E. Main St.

Crafters and growers will display their goods for sale in tented areas in front of the Tractor Supply store. Participating local vendors include:

Petra Farms on site from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and RoadRunners LLC from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Market Day allows us to provide a space for the Cañon City community to come together to shop local, support their neighbors, and highlight the incredible talent that's right here in our own backyard," said Angie Sickler, manager of the Cañon City Tractor Supply. "You never know what you might find at this one-day event — or how it might inspire your family's next crafting or growing adventure."

Royal Gorge Cabins opens four new glamping tents

Royal Gorge Cabins has opened four new glamping tents to complement the four tents and nine luxury cabins it introduced last summer.

Built on heated and stained concrete slabs, the tents feature two queen beds, an evaporative swamp cooler for summer-season climate control, WiFi, private deck and concrete patio with a built-in fire pit equipped with a cooking grate.

Royal Gorge Cabins are owned and operated by Echo Canyon River Expeditions, one of the oldest and largest tourism companies in the Royal Gorge region. Named one of the country's top adventure resorts by U.S. News & World Report, the resort offers a variety of whitewater rafting adventures on the Arkansas River, full-service restaurant and bar, event space and campsites in addition to the cabins and tents.

"The glamping tents were a hit from the start, and it became clear that there was a tremendous need for luxury accommodations in this recreation-rich region of Colorado," said Andy Neinas, owner of Echo Canyon River Expeditions. "Every summer night we'd see guests happily gathered around their fires enjoying the starry skies and fresh mountain air."

The glamping tents are available May 1 through October. Rates begin at $229 for the new two-queen cabins and $179 for the original cabins, which feature one queen bed.

Reservations for the cabins and glamping tents can be made online at or by calling 1-800-748-2953.
