Commercial construction company J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. recently completed the over 6,000-square-foot expansion of the Margo Lang Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit for Charlotte Behavioral Health Care, a source for mental health and substance abuse programs and services.

Expected to serve 1,500 patients a year, the new space has 10 children’s beds with double and single bedrooms, a children’s activity room, a parental visitation area, an outdoor recreation area, a nurses’ station, four bathrooms and administrative space.

Built to prison standards, the Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit has 75 cameras inside and outside the facility, and the patients’ safety and comfort were taken into consideration with the building’s design and all of its elements.

The $2.3 million addition, which sits on the organization’s 40-acre campus in Punta Gorda, will provide much-needed help to children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 and their families in crisis.

Neal continues to break own sales records

Neal Communities sold 102 homes in October, kicking off its fourth quarter stronger than previous records and continuing to break its own sales records.

The first month of the fourth quarter brought its year-to-date sales to 1,003 new home sales, a 5 percent increase from this time last year. The builder’s south Sarasota County neighborhoods led the sales effort last month with 17 homes sold at Grand Palm, Neal Communities’ popular master-planned community in Venice, and 13 homes sold at Milano in Venice.

In Neal Communities’ south region, the builder notched 28 sales, with Avalon of Naples leading with seven sales in the popular carriage home community. Daniels Place, a master-planned community in Fort Myers with 85 single-family homes, followed with four sales.

The builder’s other high-performing neighborhoods include Coastal Key, Coconut Cove, Cypress Walk, Oaks of Estero and Watermark.

Neal’s luxury custom homes division, Neal Signature Homes, with prices starting in the mid-$600,000s, sold two in October and is nearing sellout at The Inlets in Bradenton, with only one waterfront home site remaining.
