Austintown police said that a traffic stop on Sunday led to the discovery of 37 grams of cocaine in a man's underwear.

According to officials, they pulled a car over on North Meridian Road around 3:30 p.m. because the driver ran a stop sign and failed to use a turn signal.

Twenty-two-year-old Brandon Emery was a passenger in the vehicle, and although another person was driving, police did discover that Emery was the owner of the car.

Police said that Emery handed them his cell phone so that they could see the insurance information for the vehicle on it. When he handed police the phone they noticed marijuana on the phone and smelled marijuana in the car.

Officials said that the searched the driver of the vehicle and another passenger in the car. Neither had anything illegal on them.

However, when police went to search Emery, they said that he would not spread his legs apart. Officers then noticed pieces of cocaine falling out of his pant leg.

Emery was then transported to the Mahoning County Jail. Officials said that when Emery arrived at the jail, an officer found a big bag of cocaine with a hole in it located in Emery's underwear.

Officers also found more individually wrapped bags of cocaine between his backside and underwear.

Police reported finding a total of 37 grams of cocaine and marijuana/

Emery is facing charges of resisting arrest, obstructing official business, possession of drugs and illegal dispensing of drug samples.
